Indie Games Everywhere

For such a short month February was very busy here at ChromaGlitch! In fact, there was hardly any downtime to write up a blog post, but we’re back with a recap.

Indie Games Galore - So Many Events

We participated in two events celebrating Indie Games, the first was The Big Adventure Event (theBAE) and the second was the Steam Next Fest.

The Big Adventure Event

During The Big Adventure Event, we were able to cover multiple very fun games.

Shirt participated in the Beta for Aquamarine and was able to cover the game's launch during the event, here's what she thought about everything from the art style to mechanics in this survival game.

A quiet survival adventure about perception and discovery in an alien ocean. Explore a planet reclaimed by nature. Cultivate new life to survive. Journey into unknown depths. Find your way home.

Chris was also able to showcase several demos during the event from space exploration to Lovecraftian mysteries. These are still being edited for YouTube, however, the full highlights can be found on Twitch!

Warp Frontier: In the year 2215, orbiting humanity's newest extrasolar colony, Police Captain Vincent Cassini becomes embroiled in an intersystem conspiracy to bury crimes that occurred during the war that devastated his planet.

Desolatium Prologue: is a first-person point & click Graphic Adventure based on Lovecraft Mythos. Live this horror story where you will have to visit mysterious locations, face Lovecraftian creatures, find clues and combine objects to solve puzzles.

Shirt also showcased several demos including the demo for Beacon Pines and A Guidebook of Babel. Both games explore using different mechanics to rewrite events to traverse through each game.

Something's afoot in the township of Beacon Pines and Luka and his friends are the only ones taking notice. Sneak out late, investigate creepy labs, throw some pigs, uncover the truth, and maybe survive the summer.

Can you change the fate of those on their journey to the afterlife? Challenge yourself to this time-twisted adventure to change how things fold out...you may even uncover the truth about this place.

Steam Next Fest

We were able to play a few demos during the Steam Next Fest, and while we didn’t stream as many as the last Steam Next Fest we wanted to pace ourselves and be able to really give each game the attention they deserve.

This has been one of the changes to the ChromaGlitch formatting that we have really been trying to get used to. We used to stream 10 times a week, but even with that many streams a lot of games we really enjoyed ended up unfinished. We hope we can really do a better job of balancing our enjoyment of games with showcasing.

Chris was able to demo Warhammer: 40,000 Shootas, Blood, and Teef during the event (you may have seen him and several other talented creators on the store page).

From the developers of the Guns, Gore and Cannoli franchise comes a new 2D run & gun platformer: Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & TEEF! Spearhead an Ork invasion, destroy the hive city and kill your warboss! ‘Ere we go!

Shirt was also able to stream the demos for Sky Caravan and The Wandering Village. Both highlights can be found on Twitch!

Welcome to the Skyways, caravaneer. Complete missions, manage your ship’s resources and make tough decisions to keep your crew alive and happy. Or not. Choices have lasting consequences in this Text-Based RPG. You are the captain - and the clouds are waiting!

Mysterious toxic spores have contaminated the planet. A small group of survivors seeks shelter on the back of a giant, wandering animal. Become their leader, build their settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with the creature to survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful world.

Both events definitely kept us busy, but with our new event schedule, we hope we’ll be giving ourselves more freedom to continue to showcase these amazing games and not risk burnout.
